pakistan won by 8 wicket in asia cup against india
Pakistan breathed life into their Asia Cup challenge with a superb victory over India in Karachi. Younus (123) built on a flying start provided by openers Nasir Jamshed (53) and Salman Butt (36) as Pakistan made light work of a target of 309, easing to victory with six overs to spare.
India won the toss and elected to bat and even though they posted 308, it was an under-par effort given the start they had made. 3 overs to make the chase look like a stroll in the park. India still have their fate in their own hands, as victory over already qualified Sri Lanka will take them into the final, but this win if nothing else restores a lot of pride for Pakistan.

And when Butt returned, following an almighty mix-up, and Jamshed retired hurt due to dehydration, Younis Khan once again emerged as India's bogeyman, while stand-in skipper Misbah-ul-Haq (70 not out off 62 balls) ensured it remains an all-round memorable outing for him.
They pieced together a 112-run partnership for the fifth wicket, while a cameo from Irfan Pathan (38 off 25 deliveries) helped India to 308 for seven. That total proved inadequate as 18-year-old Jamshed and Butt put on a brisk 65 for Pakistan's opening wicket. Butt was then the victim of a dreadful mix-up, but his departure hardly stemmed the flow of runs. In such a case, run-rate might play a vital role in deciding who play the Lankans on Sunday. .
MS Dhoni found a more than capable partner in Rohit Sharma and they put on 112 for the fifth wicket before Rohit fell to Rao for 58. Pakistan had lost the services of regular skipper Shoaib Malik due to dehydration before the start of the game and Jamshed's departure provided a ray of hope for India. A fifth wicket stand of 112 from 139 balls by Dhoni and Rohit kept India going after they had slumped to 129 for four despite a breezy opening stand of 88 between Gautam Gambhir (35) and Sehwag. .
Gambhir went after hitting four boundaries when he drove hard at a full ball from Iftikhar and was caught by Shahid Afridi in the covers. . Five balls later, in-form Suresh Raina (1) hooked Rauf straight to Salman Butt at deep square leg.
